What goes into thinking like and seeing the world like an Aesthete?
Firstly, what is an aesthete? By dictionary definition, they are a person who is appreciative of and are sensitive to art and beauty. I think that's a good place to start. In my opinion, they're also somebody who finds beauty in everything, making the effort to find, see and bring forth what they see and convey it to the world.
Like anything, there comes a bit of practice when learning to think like an aesthete. That practice is different for everyone, but the first thing, is learning how to be observant. As somebody who already enjoys people watching and prefers a quiet, reflective corner to myself, this comes slightly easier as all I have to do is adjust my artistic lens a bit. Like focusing a camera to what you would like it to see.
Since I'm somebody who has already aligned myself artistically, I am already on the lookout for the beauty in the mundane. I like sunny days that create interesting shadows which outline or highlight a cute little window that would have otherwise been forgotten. Finding a flower which hangs oh-so delicately from a tree branch, or even looking for the beams of golden sunlight piercing through the canopy of a tree, creating an illustrious glow on a singular crunchy leaf on the forgotten ground below.
Curious about my work? Let's talk!
